Since early 2025, the Gashouder has been under renovation. A new underground floor is being built to accommodate all facilities for large-scale events. These include an entrance area for visitation, cloakroom, dressing rooms and production area. The basement will make organising an event in the Gashouder much more efficient. Westergas has been a household name in Amsterdam for years. In 2018, the Westergasfabriek buildings were renamed Westergas. The same place, with new energy: Amsterdam’s Cultural Park. The seventeen historic buildings were each given a new purpose and are now home to creative businesses, events and festivals. These venues host a wide range of both commercial and cultural events.
