About Westerdag
Why Westerdag?

Westergas is one of Amsterdam’s most iconic cultural locations. Every year, it hosts festivals, concerts, exhibitions and distinctive events, alongside the daily programme of cultural entrepreneurs such as Radio Radio, Pacific, Het Ketelhuis and many others.

With Westerdag, we bring that energy together in a single free day for the neighbourhood. Spread across the Cultural Park, you’ll discover music, art, workshops, sport, games and unexpected encounters. More than 20 activities showcase everything happening in the heart of Amsterdam West.

Westerdag is an initiative by Westergas Foundation and the Amsterdam West District, bringing together residents, makers, entrepreneurs and cultural organisations to celebrate the neighbourhood.

Looking back

After two successful editions, Westerdag is growing into a lasting tradition for Amsterdam West. What started as a day of connection and culture has become an annual neighbourhood festival where hundreds of residents come together to discover, experience and celebrate their city. Watch last year’s aftermovie here.

The fact that we are able to organise this for the third time now is something we are truly proud of.”
