Cantine is the welcoming meeting place of the Westergasterrein! At the heart of the historic park, which began as a gasworks in 1885 and was transformed into a thriving cultural park in 2003, stands the imposing Machinegebouw (Machine Building). This former factory building is home to Cantine, a brasserie where you're welcomed for anything from a quick lunch to an elaborate dinner. You can sit inside at one of the tables in this raw, romantic monument, or outside, overlooking Westerpark. Cantine welcomes its guests warmly, guided by the philosophy of the Caron family: good food, good wine, and hospitable service. The menu features recognizable French dishes with a Mediterranean touch, and the wine list offers wines from all of France's leading regions. A three-course menu costs €39.50. At the bar, you can share oysters, homemade pâté, or eggplant tempura.
